The Invisible

1) The Invisible Brainstorming

When I hear “the invisible” I think of:
1. Atoms
2. Emotions
3. Spirits
4. Vectors
5. Thoughts
6. Magic
7. The Unknown
8. Untold History
9. Sound/Music
10. The Unnoticeable

2) Favourite Idea

Out of all my ideas, my favourite idea for “the invisible” is the unknown. This idea appeals to me because it is such an open-ended topic that it could be about unknown knowledge, unknown culture, unknown places, and even unknown people; yet, with all of these completely different things, the aspect of it being unknown is still the same. I just love the fact that there are so many faces that the unknown can take, it is simply something we don’t know, but once we do know it becomes visible to us. We don’t know what is in the deepest depths of space or even the bottom of the ocean, those things are unknown, but someday they might not be.
What I want to be able to say about the Unknown is that it is something that is invisible to us until we give it a form. I want to say that there are many things that are unknown and take the forms of different things such as hearing about a new thing, exploring a new place, or just simply not knowing what is happening and why. I want to say that the unknown can be equally mysterious, exiting, and horrifying.
I want to be able to encompass all of the feelings of seeing, hearing of, and experiencing the unknown into this piece of art. All of these feelings of curiosity, wonder, surprise, intrigue, chills, terror, I want the viewer to be able to look at the picture and feel all of these things and maybe even try to recall a time when they experienced something unknown to themselves, or to see what form they try to give the unknown. I want people to consider that no matter what we know there may always be am unknown thing that remains invisible to us.
